Tiny in Toronto

There are only a handful of urban centers in Canada that allow living in tiny houses, but if you are lucky enough to be in one, the advantages can be well worth it!

This is a great article about one man’s tiny home in Toronto, Ontario.

All Sorts of Sorts

As I have mentioned before, Tiny Houses come in all sorts of shapes, and designs and colours and finishes, etc. I came across this great post that showcases some different tiny homes, from bathing in a wooden barrel, to living like Cinderella. We also have a steam punk themed tiny house and a grain silo transformed into a home.

Finished Right

I am currently working with Steve Zaleschuk of Finished Right Contracting near Edmonton, Alberta. I approached Steve a while back to see if I could do some design work for him to build up my design portfolio and also to get into the Tiny House revolution.

Steve has been great to work with. He is very knowledgeable and does really great work. The best thing about Steve is he has been building tiny homes that meet or exceed building codes right from the very first one he built.

Here are some photos from his very first build which was featured on the HGTV show Tiny House Hunters.

Taking Tiny Houses to a Whole New Level – Below Sea Level

Tiny houses come in many different sizes, shapes, colours, materials, etc. But these take tiny homes to a whole new level.

Shipping Container Tiny Homes

I personally have never been a huge fan of converting¬†shipping containers to homes. It’s just a personal preference. To me, they will always look like…shipping containers. To me they are too boxy looking and by the time you finish the interior and exterior I would think you are no further ahead in time and budget than if you had just built a home from scratch.

But not everyone shares these views, in fact, some say they are the most economical solution for building a Tiny Home.

Such is the case in this article. Have a read and look at the photos and you be the judge.
